The olive harvest
... is a real highlight in Umbria. Everyone is on their feet and in the olive groves. You can hear the typical sounds everywhere. The whirring of the olive shakers, the rattling of the tractors driven by the old farmers on their way to the oil mills. To harvest olives together with others, having dinner in the community and tasting the fresh oil is an unforgettable experience. The olive harvest is for everyone - and everyone can take part according to their abilities. Whether tall, small, old or young - all that matters is the harvest community. We are looking forward to harvest olives together with you.
The harvest lasts three weeks. You can book by the week, with a weekly
programme like this:
Saturday: Arrival/departure
Sunday: Relaxed arrival and first sniff of the olive groves
Monday - Wednesday: Harvest days with breakfast together, lunch snack
in the olive grove and dinner together
Thursday: Trip to the oil mill and oil pressing
Friday: Day off

Olives are a natural product. And the weather? Well, as they say here:
‘Il tempo fa quello che fa’ . The weather is what it is.
So please understand that we can't guarantee the process. Maybe it's a bad year and there are no or very few olives. And we can't harvest in the rain. Or maybe we have so many olives that we need an extra week to harvest them. So we don't know exactly what will happen beforehand - but we promise you that we will do all we can to offer you a wonderful experience. Our olive groves are located in hilly, sometimes steep terrain. So please make sure you bring sturdy shoes (hiking boots or similar).
